Amy Kellen is the resident manager and trainer at Lake Meadows Farm. She holds a bronze medal with USDF. She is currently showing her homebred 1/2 arab/alcenburg, Fahrenheit by Furioso +//. Amy returned from her first trip to Scottsdale's Arabian show with eight 1sts, one 2nd, and two 3rds.

Amy got her first pony for her eighth birthday. Her family then purchased a hobby farm, and her love of horses began.

Soon, Amy began showing WSCA. She did it all - from English, Western, Showmanship, and Halter, to Western riding (a cross between gomes and trail). She placed second in the State at 4H one year, and another year, second in Western riding and third at Showmanship at the WSCA State show. She then began dressage and hunter over fences, which led to eventing.

Back then, there were no open, amateur, or junior divisions. There could be thirty riders at novice or traininig, with ten of them professionals. Amy was the youngest rider on the circuit. At age twelve, she would usually be sitting in 2nd or 3rd place after the dressage phase. She and her horse, StarFire, were in the Top Three at the End of the Year Derby, where you switched horses. They don't do that anymore!

Amy went on to become involved in Class A Arabian shows. She and her mother realized that Arabians were not only beautiful and elegant, but extremely intelligent as well. However, Arabians were not known for dressage. Thus began their breeding program. Her current mount, Fahrenheit by Furioso +//, was their very first attempt. His full sister is now in Denmark and being used for dressage. His half-sister, Mahgonay's Gem aka Ameka +/, is currently being used as a broodmare here at Lake Meadows.
